۳۰ مارچ ۱۹۸۸ء کے انڈین ایکسپریس میں اپنے ایک انٹرویو میں انہوں نے کہا
“India and Pakistan tend to be very bigoted about each other and there is tremendous mutual ground as well of hospitality and goodwill. The time in a way has reduced prejudices and healed wounds and that is what we need now. There is a need to develop commercial and cultural contacts between the two countries.
